Chiapas State is located in the southeast part of the Mexican Republic. It is a rich State because of its 9 socioeconomic regions which house potential places for taking advantage of the alternative tourism and its great variety of natural and archaeological sites as well as socioeconomic aspects. All of this features are within region VI, the following counties are part of it: Benemérito de las Americas, Catazajá, Chilón, La Libertad, Marqués de Comillas, Ocosingo, Palenque, Sabanilla, Salto de Agua, Sitala, Tila, Tumbala, Yajalón, y San Juan Cancuc. Each of these places offer different beautiful landscapes, rivers, waterfalls, archaeological sites, lagoons, as well as traditions and customs. All this is possible because of the alternative ecotourism.
