DESCRIPTION:

On the banks of the Blue Mountains National Wildlife Biosphere, or la reserva de la biosfera de los Montes Azules, a unique natural place is located, where the descendents of mayas live.  They keep their cultural traditions, they are loyal guards of the vestiges of the Mayan culture. They are located near the Bonampak Archaeological site.

GETTING THERE:

First, departing from Palenque  in the Federal highway No 199, then take the Fronteriza del sur and go 135 Km , where the San Javier intersection is located. Turn right in this intersection and from there  go 13 Km approximately and you will get to the Lacanja Chansayab community. ( 1 hour and 40 minutes )
